CLOSED SYSTEM FOR DRY MATTER CONCENTRATION

Börger BS – Variable dry matter

Bioselect BS is a vertical separator suitable for concentrating fiber-rich media to a dry matter content between 12 and 22%. The desired dry matter content is easily adjusted by adapting the capacities of the feed and fiber pumps.

Closed system

  • In the Bioselect BS system, the media is kept pumpable in a closed system.
  • The separators are available in three sizes with capacities up to 40, 75 & 150 m³/h respectively.
  • No odor issues
  • Low investment as no fiber hall or exhaust system needs to be built
  • No fiber handling required
  • Potentiometer for ts% in the reactor tank

Principle of Operation

Thickening in a Closed System

The substrate is fed into the Bioselect BS machine through the inlet connection (1). The screw (2) surrounded by an edge gap filter (3) rotates inside the Bioselect. The thin part flows through the filter into the external container and is directed into the thin phase outlet (4).The rotating screw transports the solid fraction towards the conical press channel (5) which ends in a thick phase pump (lobe rotor pump) (6).
The thick phase pump ensures that the thick phase remains in a closed system and transports the thickened biomass for further use.The dry matter content in the thick phase can be adjusted by adjusting the pump speed.

Concentration of Dry Matter

In the Bioselect BS system, the medium is kept pumpable in a closed system.BS separators are typically used to concentrate the dry matter content of media. By adjusting the ratio between the feed pump (substrate) and the discharge pump (concentrate), the desired dry matter content can be continuously adjusted.

Keeping the Medium Pumpable

The medium is typically concentrated to around 15% dry matter, where it remains pumpable. All phases are kept in a closed and odor-free system.

Service/Transport Position

Inspection and service of the filter is easily done by putting the separator into service position. This ensures easy access to the machine's wearing parts.

Simple and Intuitive Control

Simple and Intuitive Control

BÖRGER separators come with a proven and user-friendly control system. The control panel is built using quality components from Siemens, with the powerful Siemens S7-1200 plc at its core, featuring a 4” or 7” touchscreen. The controls can be optionally prepared for communication via various bus systems, etc. Service or software updates are carried out by Lobe's technicians via remote connection.

Operating Position

Operating Position

When the BS separator is in normal operation, it is mounted vertically, thus occupying minimal floor space
