Injection of methanol
The customer wanted to inject methanol, which is used in the oil and gas industry, to prevent corrosion in pipelines where hydrate formation occurs at low temperatures.
A new injection package was to be installed for an unmanned offshore platform in the North Sea and they wanted to protect the existing pipeline system and ensure that the pipeline was protected from corrosion and maintained in good condition.
The pipeline operated at a pressure of over 250 bar and they needed an ATEX metering pump to inject methanol into the system at over 250 bar, which could be controlled remotely.
