SYDEX Defender - Single-shaft shredder
Maintaining a stable flow and protecting the pump is essential when pumping difficult media with large amounts of fibers and the like. The solution is to install a SYDEX Defender on the suction side of the pump. The Defender shreds the particles to a size that the pump can easily handle, minimizing the risk of blockages and breakdowns.

The Defender shreds fibers and ropes, etc. to a size that cannot wrap around shafts or settle in narrow passages, ensuring a stable process.

Single mechanical seal
The Defender comes standard with a single mechanical hard metal shaft seal designed for media with high content of fibers and similar.
Low Speed
A strong planetary gear reduces the speed of the blades, resulting in a long service life. The gear ratio in the planetary gear is adjusted to the desired shredding level for each task. The low speed also ensures high torque.
Reversing Control
As an option, the Defender can be supplied with a PLC control that reverses the knife if a selected current limit is exceeded. If it cannot free itself, the control sends an alarm signal that can be used to stop the pump.
Simple and flexible
Due to the removable flange connections in ductile cast iron, quick access to the blades can be obtained. Various sizes of DIN flanges in PN 16 ensure easy installation of the grinder in the piping system.
