DURABLE GLASS FIBER PUMP

CFG Vitrum series

The Vitrum series is designed for demanding tasks where the media is both aggressive and abrasive. All media-contacting parts are made of glass fiber to achieve the highest chemical resistance while ensuring optimal abrasion resistance.
The series can handle temperatures ranging from -45°C (-50°F) to 120°C (250°F).

Material Combinations

The pumps are developed based on many years of experience with abrasive aggressive media. The great flexibility in durable material combinations makes Affetti pumps the obvious choice when strict requirements are needed. Typical examples of material combinations:

  • Glass fiber FRP-VES vinyl ester resin: Standard applications
  • Glass fiber FRP-VEA vinyl ester resin: Applications with abrasive media
  • Glass fiber FRP-VEC vinyl ester resin: Applications with bleaches
  • Glass fiber FRP-VEF vinyl ester resin: Applications with fluorides
  • Glass fiber FRP-EPX epoxy resin: Applications with strong chemicals and solvents

RTM Moulding

The glass fiber components in CFG and CFM pumps are produced using RESIN TRANSFER MOULDING with glass fiber reinforced vinyl ester.

Technical Design and Benefits

  • FRP pump housing in heavy thickness ensures optimal mechanical strength and chemical resistance.
  • Partially open self-balancing impeller; with metal core for extra strength.
  • Shaft sleeve in FRP or PE-UHMW for shaft unaffected by media.
  • Standard high-end mechanical shaft seal.
  • Single-row radial bearing.
  • Balanced shaft in 42CrMo4 carbon steel (special alloys on request), oversized to absorb torque and radial forces.
  • Rear double-row, angular contact bearing, designed to withstand axial and hydraulic forces.
  • Housing in corrosion-resistant G25 cast iron with epoxy coating.

Efficient impeller fixation

Efficient impeller fixation

A fixation system consisting of an impeller nut with a locknut ensures that the impeller never loosens, e.g. during reversed startup.

Axle bushing separated from impeller

Axle bushing separated from impeller

The axle bushing (C) is separated from the impeller (B) allowing for replacement without changing the impeller, thus reducing spare part costs. The rubber ring (B) helps to keep the bushing in place.

Mechanical Shaft Seals

Elastomer Bellows Seals

Elastomer Bellows Seals

Mechanical shaft seals for mildly aggressive, clean, and non-viscous fluids. Static and rotating rings in SiC, springs and holder in SS316 not in contact with the fluid, elastomers in EPDM or FPM. Available as external type (B6E-B6EC), internal (B6I - B6IC - B6IH), or double mechanical type (B6EDF - B6EDFC).

PTFE bellows seals

PTFE bellows seals

Mechanical shaft seals for very aggressive media and high temperatures. Static and rotating rings in three different material combinations (SiC-SiC, SiC-Al2O3, Al2O3-PTFE-C), PTFE bellows, springs and holder in SS316 (non-media contacting). Available as external type (JRS - JRS1 - JRA) or double mechanical type (JR2S - JR2S1 - JT2P - JR2A).

Seals with spring retaining in metal

Seals with spring retaining in metal

Mechanical shaft seal for moderately aggressive, clean, and non-extremely hot media. Static ring in Al2O3 and rotating ring in carbon-graphite, spring in SS316, O-rings in EPDM or FPM, and gaskets in PTFE. Available as an external type (B8E) and double mechanical type (B8EDF).

Seals with rubber O-rings

Seals with rubber O-rings

Mechanical shaft seal for moderately aggressive, clean, and not extremely hot media. Static and rotating rings in two different combinations (SiC-SiC, carbon-graphite-SiC), spring and retainer in Hastelloy C276, O-ring in EPDM or FPM. Available as an internal type (UMG - UMS) or double mechanical type (UM2G - UM2S).
