BHS is one of the world's leading manufacturers of shredding machines with over 100 years of experience in the recycling, quarrying, mining, and mountain industries. All BHS machines are designed to withstand extreme loads and with ease of service in mind.
Tests conducted by the Research Center for Agriculture in Weihenstephan show a significant increase in gas yield when biomass is shredded in the Biogrinder. Due to the finely divided structure of the biomass, the surface area is dramatically increased, allowing bacteria to convert the material more quickly.
Countless experiments show that the entire system operates significantly better when biomass is shredded before entering the plant.
Power consumption and wear on pipelines and pumps are significantly reduced. Additionally, blockages of heat exchangers and floating layers are effectively eliminated.
The Biogrinder is suitable for almost all types of biomass. The degree of shredding can be easily and quickly adjusted for each type of biomass. To achieve maximum flexibility, the hammers can be mounted in two levels. The Biogrinder is available in two sizes with 55 and 75 kW motors for capacities up to 8 t/h.
The oval rotor is equipped with a top plate that guides the biomass down between the rotor and the outer wall. The top plate protects the rotor from wear and is easily replaceable.
The tapered hammers in special hardened manganese steel act like a propeller and generate a downward airflow that helps propel the biomass through.
The hammers grind the biomass against the bars mounted on the rotor. The specially hardened bars are mounted with external bolts for easy and quick replacement.
The shredded biomass is squeezed out of the outlet opening where it falls into a screw or pump, depending on the plant design.
1 RotorThe machine is built with a powerful high-speed rotor, on which up to 4 interchangeable hammers are mounted. A large special hardened top plate with welded hard metal ensures that the biomass is directed towards the hammers.2 HammersThe hammers are designed to achieve optimal shredding with the lowest possible power consumption. Due to their angled design, a downward airflow is generated.3 Easy serviceThe large service hatches provide excellent access for inspection and service.4 Hydraulic lubrication systemThe machine is supplied standard with an automatic hydraulic pressure lubrication system that ensures bearings and transmission always work under optimal conditions.5 Vibration sensorAn adjustable vibration sensor ensures that the machine stops if a foreign object enters. This ensures that any foreign objects are not transferred to subsequent pumps, etc.
The hammer mill is placed on the floor, providing ideal service conditions. Vibration-damping machine shoes dampen vibrations.
The extraction screw below the mill conveys the biomass to the mixer pump where it is mixed with manure and pumped into the reactor.
A powerful permanent magnet is placed over the mill to effectively retain unwanted metal parts. The magnet is easily serviced via the service platform.
